Boy we had some fun yesterday! SO much fun that we hardly had time to take photos!! Here are some more bridges and some photos of the kids who made huts in the forest. We also had fish n'chips, ice blocks, some of us swam, and watched a bit of a movie. What a great way to celebrate 2017!

Technology Challenge
Yesterday we got into groups and made bridges using 30 straws, 2 sheets of newspaper, 1 metre of string and 1 metre of sellotape. They had to hold a 1kg weight. The children worked so well together and persevered to complete their bridges. Ka pai!

Cornbread
Here is the cornbread that some kids made today. As you can see it was very popular. The recipe is attached. Maybe have a go in the holidays. Cornmeal is found in the gluten free section of the supermarket.
Sorry, it's upside down!!
Today we are celebrating Thanksgiving in Te Kete Manawa.
One of our lovely Learning Coaches and her daughter are from the USA and they have helped us to celebrate with lots of different activities. Here we are making cornucopias with messages of thanks inside.

Plant to Plate
Some of the TKM tamariki were lucky enough to be involved in the Plant to Plate project at school yesterday. Some incredible volunteers came in to cook some delicious food with the tamariki. They were cutting, grating, mixing, measuring, cleaning and of course tasting!
